13 Year Prison to Tory Lanez Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Los Angeles, June 9, 2023 – Prosecutors in Los Angeles want Tory Lanez to get 13 years in jail for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez was also accused of constantly harassing and threatening him after the events by going against protection orders and making threats.

The request for this sentence was made in a number of trials through a memo.

The petition was made this week by a group of lawyers from the Los Angeles County District Prosecutor’s Office. They accused Lanez of sending millions of his followers to attack Megan Thee Stallion after he shot her, as well as getting other celebrities to harass her in public.

The report also said that Lanez attacked another artist, August Alsina, while he was still free with warranty and spread a false story about the shooting online.

In the prosecutor’s memo, it was said that Lanez had “run a disinformation campaign for three years to bring the trauma back to the victims.” In December of 2017, a jury decided that Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion five times after an argument at a 2020 party where Kylie Jenner was present.

Lanez, whose real name was Daystar Peterson when he was born, was found guilty of strikes with semi-automatic firearms, letting a gun go with very dangerous carelessness, and having hidden and unregistered weapons in his car. Insider got a memo from the prosecution that said Lanez could get up to 22 years and 8 months in jail for all of these crimes.

The Los Angeles County High Court will decide on his case on June 13.

Prosecutors say that giving Lanez only a trial term would ignore the fact that he doesn’t feel bad about shooting the man and that he broke court orders to stay away from the victim and not talk about the case over and over again.

For example, Lanez had rapper DaBaby “near” the stage while Megan Thee Stallion was singing at the 2021 Rolling Loud Festival. This was against a court order to stay away from the artist and put the victim in a state of “very fear,” the memo said.

Lanez also tried to make money off of the shooting by putting out an album with songs about it. He said Megan Thee Stallion “turned” the story because she was angry that she was dating Megan Thee Stallion and her close friend.

It’s already a very harsh insult to say that the defendant didn’t follow a normal court order,” the prosecutor wrote. The accused acted with pride. The crimes he did were almost as bad as intimidating and bothering the victim, which could put the fairness of the trial process at risk.”

Christine Benavente, Lanez’s lawyer, had not replied to the request for comment until the article was written.
