Early Goals Secure India’s Lead

Both teams played well from the start of the game, keeping the crowd at the Salalah Sports Complex on the edge of their seats. In the 13th minute, Angad Bir Singh scored a well-placed goal that put India ahead and gave them a solid spot on the scoreboard. India’s top scorer, Araijeet Singh Hundal, added another goal in the second quarter to make it 2-0 in their favour.

Pakistan’s Determined Efforts

Even though Pakistan was behind, they kept moving forward, eager to score a goal and close the gap. India, on the other hand, kept the ball for a long time and played a good defence. India kept their lead going into the second half thanks to a great save by their custodian, HS Mohith.

Pakistan Finds the Net, but India Holds On

In the 38th minute, Pakistan’s hard work paid off when Abdul Shahid’s cross-field shot hit Basharat Ali and went into the net, cutting the score to 2-1. India had to focus on their defensive tactics in the last quarter because Pakistan kept attacking. Pakistan tried to tie the score, but India’s custodian HS Mohith and the defence played very well and stopped them.

India’s Triumph and Individual Honors

Even though Pakistan kept putting pressure on India and gave them multiple penalty corners, India was able to keep their lead until the final whistle. The Best goalie of the Tournament award went to HS Mohith, who did a great job as the goalie. India’s captain, Uttam Singh, was named Player of the Match because of how he led the team and helped them win. He talked about how nervous the team was in the final, but he said that their early goals helped them stay in charge of the game.

India’s Track Record and Pakistan’s History

With this win, India won its fourth Men’s Junior Asia Cup. Before that, they won in 2004, 2008, and 2015. On the other hand, Pakistan has won the title three times and has been the second most successful team in the event. But their last win was 27 years ago, in 1996.

Group Stage and Semi-Finals

India and Pakistan were in the same pool during the group stage. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, so both teams are still unbeaten in the group stage. But India won the group because they scored more goals than Pakistan and had a better goal difference. In the semi-finals, India showed how strong they were by beating the Republic of Korea by a score of 9-1, while Pakistan beat Malaysia by a score of 6-2.
